We saw at least 3 on the York River last week. Nice to know what you're looking at...this guy/gal is coming out of its "eclipse" plumage. People usually envision the breeding attire when you mention "loon". This is a nice CLOSE shot. Zoom lens or was it pretty close to you? :)  Sometimes they get used to Man just enough to let People get closer within reason. ^^
