Well, I've scrimped and saved, and managed to purchase a new lens for my camera--a Tamron 150-600mm. I'm super stoked, been wanting a good zoom lens for years now, and this one has excellent reviews for wildlife photography. It's also nice to know I can get good shots without having to get too close to the birds, which is better for them.

In my brainstorming to figure out what to do about money this summer, I remembered that I have a bunch of old art I don't do anything with. It sits all sad, in a folder in my closet, in the dark, as the years go by. The timespan of work goes back into the late 2000s.
So, I dug it out, went through it, and picked out what I thought were some of the better examples of my older art, and am offering them for sale if anyone's interested. I have three polymer clay sculptures I'm finally ready to let go of and put up for sale.
This ever popular silver dragon is going for $500. It is 7 1/2" from wingtip to wingtip and slightly under 10 1/2" from tip of snout to tip of tail. I poured a LOT of time and energy into this one, especially the fine scales which were individually hand rolled and put in place. I was underemployed at the time, and definitely wouldn't be able to do something like this now without it taking me a year or more.

It was completely unlike anything I had heard before, being heavily electronic, yet having a distinctly organic feel to it. Maine Birds Threatened By Climate Change Series
In light of the environmental onslaught brought on by the Trump administration, I've felt compelled to act in whatever way I can to fight back. And I think the best way for me to do this is by using my art to make others aware of the beauty and ecological importance of birds. With that in mind, I've decided to create a series of drawings showcasing the birds in my home state of Maine, USA, that are threatened by climate change. This is a small gesture in the grand scheme of things, but I hope that others will see these birds the way I do, and feel equally compelled to protect them.
