Lately I've really had some creative juices flowing. Currently there are five ideas for paintings floating around in my head, largely inspired by music, and one of which was conceived in 2013. It's just hard to find the time to sit down and crank out new work because of my full time job. But tomorrow I have off, and the weather is going to be crappy, so no excuses! Time to sit down and get one started.
It's kind of funny, because when I was younger I'd listen to music and be just as intensely moved by it as I am now, and it would inspire these visions and landscapes in my head. But those were far more vague than the ones I have now. At the time I was unable to translate them into actual images effectively. Now I have a much better grasp of what I want to do for each concept.

Old art for sale, and commissions open *Updated*
In my brainstorming to figure out what to do about money this summer, I remembered that I have a bunch of old art I don't do anything with. It sits all sad, in a folder in my closet, in the dark, as the years go by. The timespan of work goes back into the late 2000s.
So, I dug it out, went through it, and picked out what I thought were some of the better examples of my older art, and am offering them for sale if anyone's interested. Sculptures for sale
I have three polymer clay sculptures I'm finally ready to let go of and put up for sale.
This ever popular silver dragon is going for $500. It is 7 1/2" from wingtip to wingtip and slightly under 10 1/2" from tip of snout to tip of tail. I poured a LOT of time and energy into this one, especially the fine scales which were individually hand rolled and put in place. I was underemployed at the time, and definitely wouldn't be able to do something like this now without it taking me a year or more.

When I was 16 years old, Radiohead released their fourth studio album, Kid A, and it quickly established them as my all time favorite band. It was completely unlike anything I had heard before, being heavily electronic, yet having a distinctly organic feel to it. Maine Birds Threatened By Climate Change Series
In light of the environmental onslaught brought on by the Trump administration, I've felt compelled to act in whatever way I can to fight back. And I think the best way for me to do this is by using my art to make others aware of the beauty and ecological importance of birds. With that in mind, I've decided to create a series of drawings showcasing the birds in my home state of Maine, USA, that are threatened by climate change. This is a small gesture in the grand scheme of things, but I hope that others will see these birds the way I do, and feel equally compelled to protect them. I love how inspiring music can be. That is what I most enjoy about soundtracks. They inspire tales and visions. Music is awesome in how it touches us most intimately. I hope you find the time to crank out your ideas. Birth those babies! Er, uh, or something like that.
